Blogs changes the whole outlook on keeping a diary, turning it from a private affair to a publicly-shared experience. And yes, you can also search through your posts. Of course, if you so desire, you can share any journal entry with others through the usual social networks and emails; but your privacy is still protected by sharing only the entries you intend to, and not your entire journal.
