TOP 10 TURN OFFS THAT KEEP VISITORS FROM YOUR WEBSITE

If you are an online marketer, then you appreciate the importance of attracting visitors to your website. The website is virtually non-existent if there are no people coming to assess your services or products. Worse still, if it doesn’t rank highly for your targeted keywords, things get even worse.
If your website is not doing well, it is highly likely that you are turning away potential visitors. Your site’s usability is the most important factor when it comes to attracting visitors to your website.
If you have noticed increasing bouncing rates and low visitor-to-lead conversion ratios, it is highly likely that your website is failing in either attracting or retaining the potential audience. While design matters when it comes to promoting your website, it is important to appreciate the place of functionality in enhancing visibility and also attracting more users.
Here are some turnoffs that are keeping people away from your website:

1) POOR LOADING SPEED

With more websites to choose from and a lot of information to go through, the attention span of an internet user is getting shorter. Worse still, their tempers are shorter than ever. If your website experiences slow speeds, you will definitely be looking at angry and impatient visitors. They will immediately turn back and look for another alternative.
You should appreciate that there are thousands of competitors offering similar services and products. If people are turning away from your website, it is highly likely it is taking forever to load. It is time to talk to a search engine optimisation (SEO) expert on how to optimise speeds.

2) EXCESS POPUP ADS

Before you start luring visitors with popup ads, you better realise how irritating they are to the ordinary user. They might eventually get you a few email subscribers but in the process, you will have turned away thousands of leads.
Popups interfere with the reading experience and when there is a guilt trip in betwixt the ad, it makes things worse. These ads should be used in moderation and tracked keenly to assess their effectiveness.

3) AUTO PLAY CONTENT

Assume someone wants to get something from your website while in the classroom or an office environment. If you have auto play ads, you can bet they will immediately close your website and vow never to return. It is important to give the user the right to choose how they want to experience your content. Never force your visitors to listen to your ads because they will never return.

4) POOR NAVIGATION

How would you love to navigate through a new country without a map or any guide book? This is the same problem your site visitors experience if it is poorly navigable. A poorly designed website leads to problems right from the moment a visitor lands on your site. They don’t know where to go and there is no call to action anywhere. When this happens, users get angry and immediately go back to SERPs i.e. search engine result pages and look for a more maneuverable website in your niche.

5) LACK OF MOBILE OPTIMIZATION

Most Internet users today are accessing websites through mobile devices. From smartphones, tablets to wearables, everyone wants to enjoy access while on the go. If your website has not leveraged a responsive design, you are in big trouble.
Internet users have no time to log into a laptop or a PC while they need the information instantly and on the go. What’s more, Google has already updated its mobile algorithms meaning websites that are not mobile-friendly will be penalised; talk of double tragedy.

6) STOCK PHOTOGRAPHY

This is a complete no-no if you are serious about marketing your website. The modern consumer is very conscious and if you try fooling them using stock photography culled from the Internet, they will instantly know it.
Avoid using images that are not representative of your business. Get real images, however simple they look, because authenticity is what the modern shopper is after. Don’t go for those Hollywood smiles because they are not real and users want to interact with real people just like themselves.

7) NO BLOG

If you don’t have a blog, then your visitors will quickly be turned off. This platform is important as it offers a chance to interact with your readers and give them more information about your services and products.
A blog is a creative way to supplement what you already have on other pages. It has more personalised information and you can engage with visitors. Blogs also allow you to analyse users’ views regarding what you are offering.

8) NO CONTENT SHARING BUTTONS

The role of social media in marketing cannot be gainsaid. If you are not leveraging the power of social media in sharing your content, you are not only irritating visitors but also losing out greatly on better ranking and increased conversion rates.
If users can’t find that Facebook or Twitter sharing button, the first thing that will come to mind is doubts about your credibility. Who is not sharing their web content today, they will wonder. With such doubts in mind, the potential lead will move on to the competition leaving you high and dry.

9) TITLE AND CONTENT MISMATCH

A title is supposed to give a hint of what you have written on the page. If it is misleading, you are in big trouble with the readers. They will not only berate you for it on social media but they will also feel cheated, meaning you have probably lost them forever. Your title and the content it represents must be congruous lest you turn away potential leads.

10)POOR INTERNAL LINKING

You might not know it but internal links greatly improve users’ experience on your site. They can move from one page to the other augmenting what they are reading at the moment. However, internal linking is only effective if done professionally.
Broken links or links to irrelevant pages are risky as they imply you are trying to fool the reader. Always make sure you check the links regularly or have a web design expert test them to guarantee they are effective.

There are other important factors to consider. Which local SEO ranking factor is more important? Do you focus on content or site architecture in SEO? Is offline SEO more important than online SEO? Luckily, you can now find a local SEO expert to work with you in order to attract and retain the target audience while also improving your ranking.

HERE IS WHY YOUR STARTUP NEEDS A BLOG ?

Given the many difficulties that startups face these days, being found by users and making a statement tops the priority list of marketers. This is where blogging about your startup enters the picture. Tarun founder of Mcube Web Technology, an online shop for traditional sweets and pickles, says,
Blogging is helpful for the simple reason that it will bring in a lot of unique visitors. Sharing blog posts on social media platforms help as well. When you write about topics like food, visual images work better with readers. A healthy engagement on our blog translated into purchases as well for us. I have a team of freelancers who help me out with the articles, keeping keyword density in mind.”
But that’s just one story. There are individual bloggers who make tons of money from their websites, and there are entrepreneurs who’ve built businesses through their blogs.
So how exactly does blogging help? And what should you keep in mind when you blog foryour business? We’ll address these queries below.
It improves your search engine ranking
Writing content relevant to your business on your blog on a regular basis not only drives traffic to your startup’s website, but it also increases your search engine rankings, thanks to the inbound and outbound links in the post and in the comments. Learning about how search engines rank sites might take up some of your time, but understanding this is well worth the effort.
It allows you to promote your culture
Gone are the days when employees had to bribe their way into jobs. These days, employees are choosy about where they work. They are only interested in working jobs that suit their personalities and accept their personal exigencies. Blogging about the colourful culture in your office might be your much-needed ingredient to pull in some good employees. Every time something fun happens at your startup, share it to the world. It’s a simple process but one that’s highly effective.
It helps you promote your products
Your company may continuously introduce product updates or launch marketing campaigns; and what better place to chronicle all this information than on your blog? Look at it this way: You put out content for the world to read, and in the process, you build your following – all for free! So make full use of this. Not only does it do wonders for a startup, entrepreneurs can promote themselves, too, and create a personal brand in their own fields.
It helps you find potential partners
Blogging is a great way to find people who are interested in what you do. It is easy to build a relationship over social media before you talk hard business. The kind of reach a blog has is completely different from that of other traditional channels.
It enables you to position your company as a thought leader
Your startup might be solving pressing problems in your vertical, but nary a soul, other than your employees and the client, would be aware of this. Letting others know about your achievements via case studies and white papers can make you an authority in your field with influencers and amateurs flocking to your blog to know what’s new at your end.
It can attract sources of funding
It doesn’t take a genius to see that investors are aggressively searching for good ideas and entrepreneurs to fund. Yes, cold-calling a bunch of investors might be the oft-used way to get in touch with VCs. It would be nice to be approached by potential investors who got to know about your startup through your blog, wouldn’t it?
It is not easy to sustain a person’s interest. It definitely takes compelling and up-to-date content to do this. Provide value to your audience, and they will be more than happy to type in your URL to read your posts. Stand out today by wielding your keyboards and penning your thoughts onto your blog.

FACEBOOK MESSENGER BOTS GET QUICK REPLIES AND OTHER NEW FEATURES

Facebook on Friday announced new features for its messenger bots that would enable users to rate their favourite (or least favourite) bots, similar to apps on various app stores. Facebook will now also allow users to respond to messages via a new feature called “quick replies”.
For example, a bot might ask you to pick a destination for travel and simply offer “Mumbai” or “Bengaluru” as the two quick reply options. Now, Bots will also feature persistent navigation options in the window itself, in case the user forgets a text command.
Engadget also reports that businesses will now also be presented with the option to link their customers’ accounts with their Messenger accounts. As a result, the user can directly access a personalised service right through the messenger.
Facebook has claimed that the account linking protocol is safe but in order to not force anything onto the users (or businesses) the option is available as an opt-in.

CREATE A RESUME USING POWERPOINT

In order to use PowerPoint to create your resume, you will need to select “page setup”, in order to change from landscape to portrait. Insert a text box in the center of the page and type your name in it. Next, click on the “format” tab.

Next, select your alignment from the alignment center. Next, type your name, address, phone number, and email address in one line underneath your name. Place lines above and below. Use the shift key to make the lines and make sure that they are centered. Select your dots from the Symbols. Align your subheading with “align left”. You will want to add the parts of your resume in chunks, because it will make formatting easier. Align the dates on the right.

HERE IS THE PERFECT MODEL TO BRAND YOUR COMPANY

To succeed in a challenging environment, it is important that startups  manage their brands effectively. Out of 1000s of multi-million-dollar brands around the world, only 100-odd companies can be considered as brands that are dearly loved by people. This shows that building a brand name is a challenge. Let us see what a brand should do to stay on top of the customers’ minds.
Stay on top of conversations around your product:
Like branding, social media is all about creating conversations. These days, it is not enough to have a Facebook page and a Twitter account. You must participate in your brand conversations by putting up regular posts and replying to messages from your customers. Social media has changed the way customers expect a response when they have a complaint to register or an issue to share. They expect instant access to their brands. Monitoring social media has become a must. It is advised that companies respond to social media posts before anything could go out of hand.
Offer a great product:
The greatest branding exercise for your business is when you create your core product. It will sell your brand more than any other metric. Do not try to attract the average Joe with a substandard product at low pricing. Instead, go for premium pricing with a sturdy product that would satisfy most users. It is better to have fewer customers who are high paying  than having to manage hundreds of low-paying customers who will add to your support and maintenance woes as well. When exceptionally successful companies start to play the market based on pricing, their brand value automatically drops.
Be open and inviting:
You do not have to go out of your way to say that you are a cool company. Welcome customers of all ages, races, creeds and orientation with open arms. There should be an ideal customer profile but it should be based on their buying capacity and not on any other factors. Help fulfill human needs like a sense of belonging and self-esteem by being open to all people.
Target your niche market well:
Online is a crowded world to be in. But most of us have nowhere else to sell other than online. Constantly shifting marketplace means that one must be creative in their approach towards differentiation. The better youunderstand your customers, the faster is the chance of the brand growing rapidly. Startups often struggle to define their target market and focus broadly, which is a mistake.
Showcase your work:
A good brand is all about respect, trust, and relationships. Your customers would be eager to see your previous customers and what they have to say about the brand.  Request your previous customers to  post testimonials on your company’s work. Research says that a video testimonial carries more weightage than a few sentences put together in haste. This will add credibility to your brand. You could also add your clients’ logos on your website. Also, mention any awards or recognition that you have received to make your business look appealing.

well-known fact that being active on social networks can proffer a wonderful edge in building your brand and improving your customer relationships; it’s an opportunity to interact with others.
Virtually everyone these days is on Facebook, Twitter, some people even own blogs. You put a lot of effort in keeping them up to date with appropriate, exciting content. Aside from the few feedbacks you get every now and then, how do you know the estimated amount of people that are really getting what you are saying?
You have to be clinical with your social media technique, publishing exciting links based on your objective, driving towards increasing your reach and task yourself into building an excellent and reputable online brand for your company.
Monitoring your social media activities indicates hearing to exactly who are saying to you, about you, and in your specialized niche. Measuring them indicates keeping track of, determining and quantifying them into useful analytics that will inform your activities.
These are individual and unique methods that depend on each other to succeed; you can achieve comparative success in social media tracking by following these steps

GATHERING DATA

The process of collecting information varies for each route. In Facebook or Twitter, you concentrate on three main areas: likes, replies, posts and shares. If someone “likes” your page, you know they can you. When your audience replies you, you’ve made the discussion two-way by catching their attention. And when they talk about you with their Facebook or Twitter friends, you’ve extended your reach.

TWITTER IS ALSO SIMILAR—

engagement is a more precise way of measuring your impact than the number of followers. Do your followers re-tweet what you post, or discuss the details of how important company and/or organization are?
Creating a blog is a wonderful way to discuss skills and knowledge while getting your organization’s name out into the world. Who is reading yours? What is the keyword that attracted them to the blog? What sites did they come from? The answers to these questions can help you figure out exactly what the visitors crave for.

NON-SPECIFIC TOOLS

In fact, you might already be using resources that will continue to work completely well for restricted tracking— 100 % free. The best search engine—Google, Bing, Ask, Yahoo! or others—can provide you with information of where your name is coming up in internet searches and help you find discussions to be a part of. This is basic monitoring in its simplest form.
Monitoring Dashboards
Monitoring dashboards let you see the main points of your social media record by showing a number of different analytics or similar ones in a single place.
You can also make a personalized monitoring panel by tactically using RSS feeds from your social media platform in addition to feeds Google and other search engines. Whether you use a dashboard or an application send e-mails updates to your mailbox is a matter of choice, but it’s worth trying both methods to see which the best fit is for you.
In conclusion, enough emphasis cannot be placed on the importance of Social Media Tracking because sooner or later you need keep tabs on the returns on efforts.
